Bepact Internal Discussion on Transparency

The chapter ‘democratic renewal’ of the federal government agreement of October 2020 focuses, amongst others, on creating more transparency on the interactions of public affairs officials with Members of parliament and ministerial cabinets.
A few weeks ago, a first proposal of law (DOC 55/2394/001) has been introduced in parliament, by Kristof Calvo (Groen), and Guillaume Defossé (Ecolo) on the creation of a transparency register and the introduction of a lobby paragraph. The text is now sent for review to the Council of State. Yet, it is expected that the draft proposal will soon be tabled for discussion in parliament.

We would like to invite you to two Bepact events, discussing this proposal of law:

1. On Monday March 14th , (1.00 PM – 2.00 PM ) you are kindly invited to an internal Bepact event, where we will walk you through the proposal, and will have an internal discussion on the proposal and on transparency in general
This meeting will be a virtual meeting.

2. On Wednesday March 30th, (6.00 PM – 8.30 PM ) , we have invited Kristof Calvo (Groen) and Guillaume Defossé (Ecolo) to an open dialogue with the Bepact members on their proposal of law, and on the topic of transparency in general.
This will be a “Bepact Political Café” live meeting, at the Brasserie de la Presse, Koningstraat 100 Rue Royal, 1000 Brussels
